Hello! My name is Mair Leonard and I serve as one of the Speech and Language Pathologists here at Friendship Elementary. I am a Davidson County native and graduated from UNC-Greensboro with a B.S. degree in Education of the Deaf and completed my M.S. in Communication Sciences and Disorders at East Carolina University. I maintain my Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech/Language Hearing Association (ASHA) and NC state licensure from the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists.
I have worked in the birth to five population, hospitals, skilled care facilities and home health settings. I began working in the public schools in 2000 in Richmond County. I moved home and have been with Davidson County Schools since 2003.
This is my fifth year at Friendship Elementary. I work with students with communication difficulties from itinerant preschool children to fifth graders. I can be reached by phone (336.231.8744) after school from 2:30 until 4:00. Please feel free to contact me regarding your child at any time via email. My email link is below.
If you have concerns regarding your preschooler's speech and language skills and would like to refer your child for a speech and language screen, please contact the lead speech therapist, Stacey Wilson at 336.242.5516 and she would be happy to assist you.
