Principal- Mrs. Meredith Phillips
Dear Friendship Elementary Community,
I am delighted to introduce myself as your new Principal, Meredith Phillips! I am honored and excited to join this vibrant and supportive community, and I look forward to working with each of you to continue making Friendship Elementary a place where students thrive and succeed.
My journey in education began with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from East Carolina University, where I developed a strong foundation in teaching. Driven by a passion for leadership and school improvement, I went on to earn a Master’s in School Administration from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro through the PPEERS Program. This advanced training has equipped me with the skills to effectively lead and support our school community.
Over the years, I have had the pleasure of serving students in various roles. I spent four years as a 4th and 5th grade teacher in Guilford County, where I cultivated a love for teaching young learners. I then expanded my teaching experience as an 8th Grade English Language Arts teacher at North Davidson Middle School for four years. Following that, I took on a role as a Principal Intern at Reeds Elementary, which provided me with valuable insights into school administration and leadership.
Most recently, I served as the Assistant Principal at Oak Grove Middle School for two years, where I was dedicated to supporting both students and staff. Each of these experiences has contributed to my growth as an educator and leader, and I am excited to bring this experience to Friendship Elementary.
I am committed to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment where every student feels valued and supported. Together, I believe we can achieve great things and continue to build on the strong foundation that has been established here.
I look forward to meeting and working with each of you!
Warmest regards,
Meredith Phillips
