Assistant Principal

I am delighted to introduce myself as your new Assistant Principal, Yolanda Lucas! It is an honor to serve as Assistant Principal at Friendship Elementary. I am passionate about creating a supportive and engaging learning environment where every student can thrive.

I believe in empowering students to become confident, responsible, and compassionate individuals. I am dedicated to working closely with teachers, staff, parents, and the wider school community to ensure that Friendship Elementary continues to be a place where students can reach their full potential. I look forward to building strong relationships with all members of our school family and working together to achieve our shared goals.

My journey in education began with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from High Point University, where I developed a strong foundation in teaching. Driven by a passion for leadership and school improvement, I continued on to earn a Master’s in Educational Leadership from High Point University. This advanced training has equipped me with the skills to effectively lead and support our school community.

My background includes 25 years of experience in education, including Teacher Assistant, Teacher, Curriculum Facilitator, and Multi-Classroom Leader. I am committed to fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and academic excellence.

I am committed to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment where every student feels valued and supported. Together, I believe we can achieve great things and continue to build on the strong foundation that has been established here.
